A New Medium!

A couple months ago a friend of mine asked me if I would consider painting on fabric for a client she had who was looking for a few original pieces for her room decor. I hope to think that I tend towards saying 'yes' to new things, I did in this case.

After researching the best quality textile paints and some experimentation with fabric I've come to really enjoy creating these new images. At the moment they are in the form of hand painted pillow panels. You can see more at http://www.handpaintedtextiles.com/

I started a wall hanging recently and I know there are endless creations that can be made with these materials. After I treat the finished piece it's color fast and can be washed to dry cleaned.

Six degrees of separation.

The Four Beasts that are spoken of in the Book of Revelations (4:6-8) symbolize all that we don't allow in our lives through our perception.  The six wings represent six degrees of separation which are the questions that separate us from what we allow: who, what, why, where, when, and how. The beasts are either looking forward (future) or behind (past) so they are not in the Now.
