A couple months ago a friend of mine asked me if I would consider painting on fabric for a client she had who was looking for a few original pieces for her room decor. I hope to think that I tend towards saying 'yes' to new things, I did in this case.<br />
<br />
After researching the best quality textile paints and some experimentation with fabric I've come to really enjoy creating these new images. At the moment they are in the form of hand painted pillow panels. You can see more at <a href="http://www.handpaintedtextiles.com/">http://www.handpaintedtextiles.com</a>/<br />

<br />
I started a wall hanging recently and I know there are endless creations that can be made with these materials. After I treat the finished piece it's color fast and can be washed to dry cleaned.<br />

<b></b>The Four Beasts that are spoken of in the Book of Revelations (4:6-8) symbolize all that we don't allow in our lives through our perception. The six wings represent six degrees
of separation which are the questions that separate us from what we
allow: who, what, why, where, when, and how. The beasts are either
looking forward (future) or behind (past) so they are not in the Now.<br />

Here in <i>The Ascension Painting</i> is the Throne of God, the seat of power, place of ownership and worthiness. It requires ownership before you sit down. The Book of Revelation 4:5 <i>And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices…</i><br />

Originally, she thought of herself on the famous bridge in Monet's garden in Giverny, but that looked too staged. After spending most of the day trying to find the perfect spot, in between enjoying the superabundance of beauty, we stopped "trying" and settled down to some tasty cheese and reviving wine. Only then of course it became effortless, the sun broke through at the perfect angle and everything fell into place. A case of relax and allow!</span>Sheila Kernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12687714908138754564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5083063305097301806.post-51002878630141806472009-05-14T09:24:00.001-07:002012-03-06T16:27:01.719-08:00Monet's Gardens and the sexy Virgin<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFJNodSZeC6iC3ytVnBLHRSD4XPueLIZ0WnEgnV_Gn9jzppJACy6fZABnSCq6ElLsEoq-tbLvrPEByBkPZZEcxPd74Tbja8fe6yWeTiHhDVMGnoJ5zBbw2K9gXWC1hI0JaaZ428qsxckzv/s1600-h/Garden+Hotel+Gaudy+sm.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFJNodSZeC6iC3ytVnBLHRSD4XPueLIZ0WnEgnV_Gn9jzppJACy6fZABnSCq6ElLsEoq-tbLvrPEByBkPZZEcxPd74Tbja8fe6yWeTiHhDVMGnoJ5zBbw2K9gXWC1hI0JaaZ428qsxckzv/s400/Garden+Hotel+Gaudy+sm.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335725337240329970" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" style="font-family: trebuchet ms; color: rgb(102, 102, 102);" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQarkdnGp_vDCyc3IiEJI5WrrLV-MhzjtgyOgHhglqxYG-B7IBqPNDV7D6EUIODfumN_r-5HSb73NIor8P6Qpvz49mWe-U63QmClXRnXOhTnduCqS_7BsCwERPuSfQkV-yuY4NI-ezh8k/s1600-h/Me+in+Baudy+garden+sm.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 289px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQarkdnGp_vDCyc3IiEJI5WrrLV-MhzjtgyOgHhglqxYG-B7IBqPNDV7D6EUIODfumN_r-5HSb73NIor8P6Qpvz49mWe-U63QmClXRnXOhTnduCqS_7BsCwERPuSfQkV-yuY4NI-ezh8k/s400/Me+in+Baudy+garden+sm.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335725227365772002" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" style="font-family: trebuchet ms; color: rgb(102, 102, 102);" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJQNncREcO1wId26wcIQ_kDGb1fnwiAmb1rsKmovlNMMHiwXvb41bhyygfpK_Z-isno42S1SmVQabwMTPEtluEHadgx6YdLZja_ptJWR7xDT7OJ_q_pYDQbs4L5XouKb9pLk0bONw8CftY/s1600-h/Orange+madana.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 305px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJQNncREcO1wId26wcIQ_kDGb1fnwiAmb1rsKmovlNMMHiwXvb41bhyygfpK_Z-isno42S1SmVQabwMTPEtluEHadgx6YdLZja_ptJWR7xDT7OJ_q_pYDQbs4L5XouKb9pLk0bONw8CftY/s400/Orange+madana.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335724926344951490" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:verdana;" >Last weekend I had the immense pleasure of visiting Giverny to experience the house and gardens of Monet. The grounds were an orgy to the senses, the explosions of color and perfumes of the flowers. Escaping the crowds, we found the Ancient Restaurant Baudy Hotel, the famous hotel that became an artists' colony in the late 1800's. Baudy was the "American painters' hotel" where everyone would dance the night sipping their whiskey. The bill that Cezanne paid at the bar is well know: "Mister Cezanne, two whiskies with Mister Monet". The artists' studio is still in the garden, open tubes and pigments well aged, and dirty palates that I had the urge to take and clean!</span><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:verdana;" > The first two photos above were taken at the gardens there.<br /><br />The next day we found ourselves rather by accident at the medieval town of Senlis, after a fabulous lunch we wandered the town and entered the cathedral. All three of us were rooted to the floor when we looked way up and saw the Virgin and Child surrounded by plain colored stonework while she herself was swathed in bright orange! I've never seen orange on the Virgin Mary, mostly because orange is the color of sex and creativity, and happens to be one of my favorite colors, partly for that reason but also because it looks good on me (see photo from just the previous day)! Not a color associated with virgins, another reason its a favorite!<br /><br />I think the sculptor had the last laugh on someone a few centuries earlier!</span><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 255, 255);font-family:verdana;" ><br /></span>Sheila Kernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12687714908138754564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5083063305097301806.post-43773437116422228032009-03-30T08:31:00.002-07:002012-03-06T16:29:59.025-08:00Lions and Lions and Lions<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXUOHwYJW76e0xgGee_UL_cjd3UDpjYglZB3wUHgH-v5FfS1uwTPgph8V3Kj3wMcWuCG5LCOBGnHWriYV6SuyCDpTdh4xULTDTh3RPen8VHL43GCq8L7hUzHWkxA2YauuPvBHjozX9J1uM/s1600-h/Divine+Heart+updated+1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 317px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXUOHwYJW76e0xgGee_UL_cjd3UDpjYglZB3wUHgH-v5FfS1uwTPgph8V3Kj3wMcWuCG5LCOBGnHWriYV6SuyCDpTdh4xULTDTh3RPen8VHL43GCq8L7hUzHWkxA2YauuPvBHjozX9J1uM/s400/Divine+Heart+updated+1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319004254845660418" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:verdana;" ><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);"><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">e hea</span></span>rt </span></span></span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:verdana;" ><br /></span><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:verdana;" ><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"> thing.</span><br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:verdana;" >Suddenly, I'm surrounded by Lions! </span><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:verdana;" >Earlier this month, just after finishing this painting, I was in the French countryside</span><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:verdana;" > in the home of people I've just met. I brought my painting with me, hand carried it onto the plane.</span></span></span></span></span><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);font-family:verdana;font-size:100%;" > Isn't life amazing?<br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Thanks again to everyone who is participating, looking forward to joining with you again tomorrow!</span></span>Sheila Kernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12687714908138754564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5083063305097301806.post-15929586013212476112008-11-03T03:00:00.001-08:002008-11-03T03:49:42.632-08:00Creativity with Hope on Election Day<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoaQ2uarBW8uS_PVZ-aHAUyxJNWTdG2GMv4A-_QrMHDGKR_sigjYpEhoNUil6YwczT_N2cQM5wK9v5Ui8lMcVN3DKsqwP4Srnf_0n1UrqukddTXzswv-p9a1SlqzZcYcLHPNbQdR09ZXIS/s1600-h/Nautilus+for+blog.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 160px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoaQ2uarBW8uS_PVZ-aHAUyxJNWTdG2GMv4A-_QrMHDGKR_sigjYpEhoNUil6YwczT_N2cQM5wK9v5Ui8lMcVN3DKsqwP4Srnf_0n1UrqukddTXzswv-p9a1SlqzZcYcLHPNbQdR09ZXIS/s200/Nautilus+for+blog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264393633488505218" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:verdana;font-size:100%;" ><span style="color: rgb(153, 255, 255); font-weight: bold;font-size:100%;" >"Like a ray of light, you are an entity of Love" </span><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);font-size:85%;" ><span style="font-style: italic;"><br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);font-size:78%;" >Love Without End</span></span><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);font-size:78%;" > by Glenda Green</span></span><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);font-size:78%;" ><br /></span><br /></span><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);font-family:verdana;font-size:100%;" >It's no accident that one of our days of joining together with intention falls on </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:verdana;font-size:100%;" ><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"></span><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Election Day in the USA. </span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">I love the idea of focusing on Hope, Peace and Harmony for Humanity while emotions, tensions, and expectations run high tomorrow. Alexandria Tyber, creator and founder of a non-profit Arts Center in addition to Three Fish and a Ram Gallery in Cape Cod, MA, is hosting this event locally by opening her arts space and inviting artists to join together and create at her premises during the four dates! Elise Zotos <a href="http://www.eluvmusic.com/">(www.eluvmusic.com) </a>will be joining us by composing music that will be available to be listened to on the page with our artwork. And happily, two artist who are listed under my favorite sites are also part of this collaboration, Bryan de Flores <a href="http://www.bryandeflores.com/">(www.bryandeflores.com)</a> and Daniel B. I'm keeping to the US time as that's where most of the artists are participating. So for those in Ireland and the UK your time will be 2:00pm - 3:00pm and for the continent (Paris time) 3:00pm - 4:00pm. This is for Tuesday, October 28th only!</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">I'm very excited to be part of this with all of you and grateful for your participation!</span><br /><br /><br /></span>Sheila Kernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12687714908138754564noreply@blogger.com
